"Silencing Myself"

I was thinking about a few things today, One of them was "silence" and how in silence you can always hear so much. Especially when you're really trying to tune everything out.
Many people don't like silence because they often hear themselves; their negative selves..... Talking to them, reminding them of what they forgot to do, what they don't have, and what they still need to do.
Silence taps on you, and in your own voice says "how dare you try to forget about me"
Why does silence often bring out the negative self, and never the positive self? yet we all crave silence, and calm vacations or peaceful road trips so that we can think. Think about what? Everything that makes us nervous and causes us anxiety? The rhythm of silence that isn't so quiet....but just quiet enough for us to hear it whisper "don't relax, don't forget about me"

The next time that you're looking for silence, search within yourself. Remind yourself that you exist, you are whole, and the nonsense and noise can wait. Tell yourself that you deserve a break of the everyday flow of trying, and giving, and offering your best self.
just for those moments; so that you can love yourself back a little, fix yourself up a little, and be ready for whatever is next.

If you can't learn to meet your positive self in silence...
You can never really meet silence. Silence will always be noisy. Silence will always be loud.

  1. Woooow!!!! Sonia awesome. it's just like you said in your first book. It's old traditions and believes that makes us fear silence. I personally find it as my personal growth time. This is when we reflect and regroup ourselves. Can't wait for this one. Will be looking forward to it.

  2. Truly Brilliant point > one who cannot achieve and appreciate the virtue of silence on the path to peace of mind can never fully achieve complete success,
